Business Development Manager - APAC

Commercially driven BDM to help expand strategic accounts, grow regional partnerships and drive new revenue across APAC for a rapidly scaling technology firm. Sits at the intersection of sales execution, account growth and regional business development.

About the role

A high-growth Sydney-based technology firm expanding strategic accounts across APAC. The role suits someone who enjoys ownership, commercial problem-solving and building strong customer relationships in complex, internationally connected markets.

You will work closely with technical teams, regional stakeholders and commercial leadership to progress opportunities from initial engagement through to long-term customer relationships.

Process

Two commercial interviews plus a final conversation with the founder or commercial leadership. AEY manages preparation and offer support throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Drive regional business-development and go-to-market initiatives across APAC.
  • Build and manage strategic target-account pipelines.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound opportunities across enterprise and government markets.
  • Conduct commercial discovery conversations to understand customer requirements.
  • Coordinate meetings, demonstrations and customer engagements with technical teams.
  • Support opportunities through the full sales lifecycle - quoting, follow-ups, commercial progression.
  • Manage relationships with distributors, resellers and channel partners.
  • Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions and conferences.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years' experience in business development, sales or commercial roles.
  • Strong commercial communication and relationship-building capability.
  • Experience managing or supporting opportunities through full sales cycles.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating across distributed teams.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter mentality with strong ownership and accountability.

Bonus

  • Experience working with distributors, resellers or systems integrators.
  • Exposure to enterprise, infrastructure, technical or government customers.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Experience operating in complex or highly technical product environments.
