Senior Electronics Technician

Heavily hands-on bench role in a high-performance production environment building complex electronic systems. PCBA repair, rework, fault finding, inspection and production support across advanced electronic products and PCB assemblies.

Sydney-based engineering company building complex electronic hardware at scale. Hands-on bench role for someone who takes pride in workmanship and enjoys solving complex hardware problems. Strong technical environment with broad exposure across electronics and manufacturing.

Process

Two stages - practical bench assessment and a final conversation with production leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronics debugging, repair, rework and inspection activities.
  • Support production builds, prototyping and product testing.
  • Conduct board-level fault finding and validation.
  • Review supplier quality issues and support incoming quality processes.
  • Prepare NCR and IQC reports following inspection and troubleshooting activities.
  • Raise quality alerts and support corrective actions.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve quality and throughput.

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience as an Electronics Technician.
  • IPC 610 certification.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability.
  • PCBA repair and rework; precision soldering and board modifications.
  • Passive components down to 0402 / 0201 size.
  • Active components - QFPs, QFNs, transistors, microchips.
  • Oscilloscopes, VNAs and other electronic test equipment.
  • PCB schematics and layouts; Altium or similar design tools.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong quality standards.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced production environment.

Bonus

  • RF systems or RF test equipment exposure.
  • CMM or inspection equipment experience.
  • Supplier-quality or manufacturing-quality process exposure.
  • Experience supporting engineering prototype builds.
